and she was not picked. ARE THEY NUTS!!!!

NOVEMBER 17th is here!!

Today is the day that we became a family. It was a rough day, but sooooo worth it. I will never forget that day. It wasn't the first time that I saw her, but it was the first day that I had seen her FOREVER. SHe looked at me like I was a stranger, I looked at her like I had known her forever. I can't explain it, she was in Azucena's arms sucking a bottle, head cocked back, eyes wide open looking at me like who are you. It was like she knew exactly what was going to happen, and was just waiting. I tried talking to Avea, but she did not like it at all. So I left her in Azucena's arms. I knew that I should wait for Azucena to be ready to give her to me. It had to be hard for her. I know that she loved Avea sooooo much. Finally Azucena made the sign of the cross over her, and said some things in spanish and handed her over to me forever. The tears were falling from my eyes, Mikes eyes, the Foster grandmas, and foster cousins were all crying. It was so hard but then so wonderful. She just handed me my baby forever. Our hearts will never be what they were, they will be better, we just learned what love REALLY is.

This day I will always cherish. I will always think of Azucena and her family, for loving our little peanut so much, taking such good care of her, and then handing her to me in such a strong way.

This day I will always remember Avea's birthmom Milagro. I will thank her forever, for making me such a perfect beautiful little girl. Giving her up selflessly so that she can have a better life. For making us the LUCKIEST people alive. I just don't get how we can be so lucky. Thank you Milagro, you are wonderful and I wish I could tell you that.

Bilateral Pnuemonia

Not sure why she looks like she has a black eye, it must have been the picture. But this is what she wore ever hour for about five minutes. The nurses couldn't believe she would leave it on. She was such a good girl.

SHe was such a sick little thing. She was such a trooper. After putting the IV in, she would just hold her castlike arm up and say BOO BOO. She was in for two night and three days. It was very long. I now understand why people always want out of the hospital. Absolutely no SLEEP. I felt so sorry for her. The nurse came in every hour and the respitory therapist came in every hour, of course that meant every half our someone was coming in and messing with her. They took real good care of her though. All the nurses loved her.

We decided to go to the West Branch Hospital because there were no clinics up by the cabin. Heck between about 8 adults we had a hard time deciding wether she should go or not. When W.B. doctor said she had pnuemonia and that she had to go to Covenant in Saginaw we were shocked. THen to add she needed to go in a ambulance. OKAY little FREAKOUT!! We arrived at Covenant at about 4:00 pm. Got into her room at 1:30 am, nurse left the room at 3:00 am. THen every half hour someone was coming in. Not much sleep to say the least, por little thing. We ended up staying two nights and three days. SHe's back to her self now. Thank goodness!!!

How do two people get so LUCKY!!!?

This just about Avea's first summer. Catch the sun anytime you can. Don't ever count on going to Grandma's and Grandpa's lake, Cuz it always rains or something else goes wrong.
